3. San andreas The film begins with a girl getting stuck after a car crash. Ray, an expert pilot and his team helps her out. Simultaneously we are taken to a Seismology unit at a local university where a professor describes how the area stretching between Nevada and California has a faultline running through the region and thus the possibility of an earthquake is massive in the area. Another professor discovers that Nevada has been recording many minor earthquakes over the past few days. To research more and test a device created by them that predicts earthquakes, the duo go there. A massive earthquake that is 7+ on Richter scale is recorded then and the professor dies in an attempt to save a child.
4. Back home we are told Ray's estranged wife Emma and their daughter Blake will soon be moving in with Emma's new rich boyfriend. Ray doesn't take the news well and snaps at Emma. To conduct a rescue operation in Nevada, Ray won't be able to take her daughter to California. Emma's boyfriend snoops in and volunteers. On their way he tells Blake that he will never be able or want to take her father's place in her life.

   
   

   Simultaneously in the seismology department, the researches find out that the possibility of a quake attacking them sooner has been doubled. Emma gets an apology call from Ray and just then an earthquake strikes. Ray guides Emma to find higher ground and is able to rescue her.

   Blake befriends two Brit brothers Ben and Ollie. When the earthquake strikes there, Blake is left stuck in an underground garage and the brothers come and rescue her.

   After rescuing Emma, Ray's helicopter runs out of fuel and they have to crash land. Ray and Emma take a car and find an aviation center from where they borrow another helicopter.
